What are the main benefits of Amazon Fire HD 10 2021?

▸ The tablet offers landscape-first design. The camera is placed on top when the tablet is in a landscape orientation. It makes it easy to make video calls or take part in Zoom meetings. In most other tablets, when you use them in the landscape mode, the picture is distorted as the camera is placed on the side.

▸ Fire HD 10 2021 is the only Amazon tablet with 3 GB of RAM. RAM stands for random-access memory – it is a super fast memory that the device needs to operate, by storing and accessing temporary data. 50% more RAM compared to other Fire tablets, combined with Octa-core 2.0 GHz processor makes the device faster and more responsive than other models.

▸ Fire HD 10 2021 is the only Amazon tablet with 5 MP rear camera. Other Fire tablet offer 2 MP cameras on the front and rear.

The Pro version of Fire HD 10 can be wirelessly charged via Wireless Charging Dock. Plus it comes with 4 GB of RAM instead of 3 GB. The basic Fire Pro variant costs $20 more than regular Fire HD 10 – $179.99.

▸ HD 10 is the first Amazon tablet compatible with the new Bluetooth keyboard that doubles as a screen cover. Thanks to special hinges, Amazon Fire HD 10 keyboard effectively turns the tablet into a laptop computer. The battery is sufficient for up to 400 hours of use. Please note that the keyboard doesn’t have the touchpad. Price: $49.99.

▸ Fire HD 10 2021 is the first Amazon tablet to come with Microsoft 365 Personal subscription. You can get it bundled in Fire HD 10 Productivity Bundle. It costs $220 ($270) and the 365 annual subscription is included. Please note that the subscription will renew automatically after a year, and your credit card will be charged the regular price for Microsoft 365 Personal.

Amazon Fire HD 10 – shopping considerations

▸ Fire HD 10 (2021) costs $60 more than Fire HD 8 (2020). Is it worth it, having in mind all the benefits mentioned above?

▸ If you are willing to buy Fire HD 10 at a lower price, wait a few months. First price cuts should be available for Prime members in July, during Prime Day 2021. However, you can’t expect the price to go below $100, that’s for sure.

▸ From my experience, first price discounts on the new Fire model can be offered a few weeks after the launch. Who knows, maybe the price will go down by a few dollars for Father’s Day 2021? The most probable deal is a price cut on the set of two devices.

▸ Depending on the demand for a new tablet, the price cuts will be deeper with time. For Black Friday 2021 we should see the price to reach the $100 level, however, it could be applied to less popular color variants.
