Vintage tech quotes on patent drawings by Piotr Kowalczyk

Take a look at tech quotes by Pablo Picasso, Douglas Adams, Stewart Brand, and Northrop Frye that are visualized on vintage patent drawings.

Our world is constantly changing, and a big part of that change is technology. From the phones glued to our hands to the algorithms influencing our news feeds, tech is woven into the fabric of our daily lives.

But where are we headed? How will our lives and devices look in 5 or 10 years? The more we depend on the technology, the more we should talk about it, evaluate it, and spot both risks and opportunities.

I have visualized a few most convincing thoughts from a list of the best quotes about technology and innovation. Every new technology begins with the idea. And every idea is followed by its visualization. That’s why I combined the quotes with vintage patent drawings, and gave them that good old look of 1980s ads.

These drawings are not showing real devices. I have used Midjourney to generate the drawings for me (I agree with Douglas Adams: “Technology is a word that describes something that doesn’t work yet.”).

I tried to accompany each quote with a relevant invention. Thru-materiel scanning computer, electric apparatus functioning like paper book, cognition amplifying, electronic, head-mounted device, you name it.

You can find the designs on posters and other products in the dedicated collections in my Zazzle and Redbubble stores. T-shirts and sweatshirts, in white and black, are available on Amazon.
