It’s not surprising that a vast majority of users think Apple’s smartphone costs too much. On the other side, more than half plan to buy the newest iPhone.
Every iPhone user with every new iPhone model asks themselves the same question: is the new generation worth the money?
If you think that the iPhone costs way too much, you are not alone. In fact, 90% of people believe the same, according to a recent iPhone survey of over 200 respondents, conducted by WalletHub in August 2024.
Other findings from the survey are as follows:
∙ 30% of people would categorize someone who always has the newest iPhone as rich.
∙ 9 in 10 people think that iPhones are overpriced.
∙ 42% of Americans think that having the latest phone is important for their self image.
∙ 56% of Americans say they plan on purchasing the latest iPhone launching this year (and that means they plan on buying iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro).
∙ 63% of people say that inflation has prevented them from getting a new iPhone.
∙ More than 2 in 5 Americans think a new iPhone is worth going into credit card debt for.
∙ 65% of people think that Apple is a monopoly.
∙ About 2 in 5 Americans think that it’s not right that Apple Pay is the exclusive way to pay for things in the Apple AppStore.
