Take a look at a handy infographic that lists the most famous artificial intelligence instances in pop culture.

AI is now a part of our daily life, but it’s definitely not a thing of the past few years. Characters equipped with features that now are associated with the AI were created dozens of years before.

The team at AIPRM created a visual guide highlighting 60 classic AI characters depicted in film, television, comic books, and video games.

Artificial intelligence took the fictional world by storm in the mid to late 1900’s, with many AI characters making their first appearance between the 1950s to 1980s.

The first AI character in a movie was False Maria from the 1927 film Metropolis. She’s a robot created to infiltrate the worker class and incite a rebellion against the wealthy elite. False Maria symbolizes the dangers of unchecked technology and the exploitation of the working class.
